Paul Riley - Managing Director

Paul is the Managing Director of OUK and joined in 2004 as Business Director. He has responsibility for the management and commercial development of the company. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College and initially joined Mobil Oil Corporation, where he undertook a variety of supply chain management and commercial roles in the oil refining, lubricants and international exploration and production sectors of the business. Paul has since developed a range of strategic planning, commercial, and supply chain experience and expertise across the energy, construction, facilities management, health and social care sectors. This experience is used to support the development of innovative solutions for clients and mobilise appropriate partnerships for their delivery. Paul is a Governor of a University College and NED of an NHS Trust.


Sarah Baker Director of Consultancy & Operational Support

Sarah is an experienced consultant who joined Outcomes UK in 2006 following 28 years service in the NHS. Sarah moved into health services management where latterly she was an Executive Director in a Primary Care Trust. She developed an expertise in safeguarding working across health, social care and education boundaries in the pursuit of improving outcomes for children. Sarah leads the development of health contracts for Outcomes UK and works with Primary Care Trust’s to support service transformation within and across local partner boundaries and undertakes fit for purpose reviews in line with World Class Commissioning.


Dr Andy Gill - Principal Consultant

Dr Andy Gill has 25 years experience within children’s services.  He contributed to the Governments Every Child Matters Change for Children programme.  He co-wrote the national toolkit on using OBA commissioned by the DCSF; contributed to a recent DCSF publication on Better Outcomes and is working on a national OBA implementation guide.  He has run over 50 Turning the Curve groups and has worked with 15 Local Authorities using OBA.  He has also worked internationally with Mark Friedman.


Sharon Penzer - Vocational Curriculum Manager

Sharon Penzer has a wide range of experience working with children and families, fostering, training and educational environments. She holds a BA in Post compulsory education as well as a Cert Ed in further and higher education. She has worked at a number of Colleges managing health, social care and childcare sections. As vocational curriculum manager Sharon is responsible for the NVQ centre and is herself an NVQ Assessor and internal verifier. She was also one of the first foster carers in Birmingham to achieve her NVQ level 3 in foster care in 1996.


Laura Mullane - Director of Resourcing

Laura Mullane graduated in 2000 with a degree in English Literature and French, she then went on to complete her CIPD and now manages the Training and Resourcing Divisions of OUK. Before joining OUK she was a Recruitment Manager for a large IFA and prior to this she worked at a large private sector healthcare company. This experience is complemented by a HR role previously held at Birmingham Social Services where she led a small team responsible for developing innovative recruitment and staff development initiatives.


Anju Bandhu - Lead Internal Verifier

Anju Banddhu has been employed by OUK since 2005 as Lead Internal Verifier. This role involves ensuring that the centre meets the QA requirements of the awarding body. To achieve this she is actively involved in supporting assessors. Anju is a qualified nurse, RN registered with NMC, bringing experience of the health care sector to OUK.


Sarah Bingham -

Sarah joined OUK in 2005 bringing with her experience in Recruitment. She currently manages the Foster Carer Recruitment Contracts for clients, ensuring that assessors and consultants are recruited in a timely manner. Sarah also holds responsibility for the recruitment of Children's Guardians. She specialises in recruiting Social Work Professionals in geographically 'sparse' areas.


Jennie Lees - Senior Recruitment Consultant

Jennie joined the team in 2007; she is an experienced Consultant with over 6 years recruitment experience. She has supplied a wide range of Social Work and Social Care staff to both Statutory and Independent organisations. Jennie has experience of Account Managing large contracts and also of running recruitment campaigns for Independent Fostering Agencies in particular. She is currently leads on placing Interim Managers accross the UK.


Sue Jeffreys - Senior Recruitment Consultant

Sue joined the team in 2008; she is an experienced Manager and Consultant with over 10 year's recruitment experience. She has supplied a wide range of Social Work and Social Care staff to both Statutory and Independent organisations throughout the UK. Sue has successfully set up Social Care agencies to place QSW's through to Service Managers and Director level. She currently leads on placing QSW's into service improvement contract teams and interim managers accross the UK.


Adam Strand - Training and Education Co-Ordinator

Adam Strand graduated in 2006 from CoventryUniversity with a Business and IT honours degree. He entered into IT recruitment after university, followed by a career in sales management. In 2007, Adam joined Outcomes UK as a Business Support Co-ordinator and has recently been promoted to Training and Education Co-ordinator. In this role Adam account manages a contract OUK has recently secured with Scottish Power and is the key contact for all early years training.
