Multi-Agency Child Protection training

Multi-Agency Child Protection training from Outcomes UK promotes the collaborative working approach of a number of agencies in addressing the needs of vulnerable children and young people.

We run a number of Multi-Agency Child Protection courses for professionals working with children and young people who are in a position to identify or address potential issues. Training courses include the following:

  • Basic Neglect training

Awareness of the different types of neglect and the implications on child development. Understanding of current legislation and effective responses to child neglect. This one-day course is particularly suitable for people who are relatively new in post or with limited experience of involvement with neglect issues.

  • Advanced Neglect training

This one-day course covers the identification of initial risk factors surrounding neglect and possible interventions, allowing delegates to clarify their role in the process and understand models of good practice to prevent long term harm.

  • Target Group 3 (Assessments training)

This is a full day course for agencies across the social care sector.  Delegates will learn about working together to identify, assess and meet the needs of children where there are safeguarding concerns including domestic abuse or substance misuse, recognising the importance of family history and functioning, private fostering, assessments and working with children and family members.

  • Target Group 4 (Referrals/Section 47 Enquiries training)

This is a two day course for those with responsibilities for undertaking Section 47 enquiries, roles, responsibilities and collaborative practice, using professional judgements to make decisions and take emergency action, working with complex cases, and communicating with children in line with interviewing vulnerable witness guidance.

  • Target Group 6 (Supervision training)

This is a one day course, which is an introduction to supervision training to undertake this role in all settings working with children, young people and/or parents and carers. Training will include assessing and managing risk, providing effective support and supervision, links between adult learning, supervision, outcomes and maintaining a child focus, and influences in supervision which enable effective inter-agency practice.

  • Training to Work Effectively with Resistant Parents/Carers

This one day course allows delegates to understand the circumstances, characteristics and prevalence of families who are resistant to change. It will examine the challenges in dealing with aggressive and/or resistant families, and also which services, treatments and interventions are effective for families that are resistant to change.
