Child Protection Awareness training
Awareness of child protection is a broad area of training, which includes a general overview of child safety down to a number of potentially harmful scenarios, such as domestic abuse and bullying.
Child Protection Awareness training from Outcomes UK provides delegates working with early years children with an awareness of the definition and categories of abuse or maltreatment. Our one-day course focuses on the following areas:
- Identifying abuse
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Recognising signs and symptoms
- Cultural traditions
- The impact of abuse upon child development
- Legislation and guidance on safeguarding practices
- Agency referrals and key contacts
- Communicating with children and parents/carers
Training to recognise domestic abuse
Outcomes UK runs a one-day course to raise awareness on the nature, extent and effects of domestic abuse upon adults and children.
The course covers the following key areas of awareness:
- A basic legal knowledge
- Types of violent behaviour
- Signs and symptoms of domestic abuse
- Who to talk to and what to do
Training to deal with domestic abuse is targeted at those working predominantly with children and young people and/or their parents or carers.
The course provides training for those who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child or parental capacity.
Anti-Bullying awareness courses
Our basis awareness Anti-Bullying one-day training course provides an understanding into the complex area of bullying. The course looks at the following areas:
- Diversity and equality
- Definitions of bullying
- Research and causes of bullying
- Child development and brain development
- Behaviours and strategies
- The effects and occurrence of adult bullying
Anti-Bullying awareness training is suitable for those working directly with early years children in children centres, nurseries, preschools and child minding settings.
