Safeguarding Training

Outcomes UK provides a number of safeguarding training courses for staff working directly with early years children, in children centres, nurseries, preschools and child minding settings, among others.

Are your staff trained in safeguarding?

At Outcomes UK, our qualified safeguarding trainers can develop your staff’s skills regardless of their level of understanding.

We can offer a one-day Introduction to Safeguarding course to provide an understanding of what children need to stay safe and develop their full potential. Delegates can obtain a basic knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance, learning about the different types of abuse and how to recognise signs and symptoms.

The introductory training course also includes:

  • What to do if you suspect abuse
  • How to record it appropriately
  • How and when to refer
  • What to expect after referral
  • How to access further safeguarding support

Advanced safeguarding courses

For those already trained in safeguarding children, Outcomes UK provides further levels of training, including Level 2 Safeguarding and Level 3 Safeguarding as well as Level 4 Safeguarding Training for Managers.

Advanced safeguarding courses offer further training to delegates on the signs and symptoms of child abuse, the policies and procedures in place and how to report and seek further support.

Safeguarding training for Managers, Deputy Managers, Owners and Safeguarding Leads covers a number of topics in managing safeguarding, including:

  • Signs and symptoms
  • Fabricated/induced illness
  • Collaborative and multi-agency working
  • Developing staff recording skills
  • S47 enquiry process
  • Developing strategies
  • Identifying actual or potential harm

Safeguarding disabled children

A specialist course for safeguarding disabled children is run by Outcomes UK for the benefit of those persons working in the disability sectors.

This one-day course includes defining disability and safeguarding implications, values and beliefs, legislations, defining abuse and vulnerabilities, models of disability, listening and communication, and case studies.
