In 2007, Outcomes UK’s Creative Learning division successfully bid and won the contract to deliver the award winning and pioneering Electricity Safety Education Programme to Primary School Children on behalf of Scottish Power
Energy Networks.

Scottish Power Energy Networks, as part of their corporate social responsibilities within their operational areas of England, Wales and Scotland, required an electrical safety educational programme to be
delivered to primary school children to teach them about the dangers of electricity. These talks were to be delivered to over 63,960 children with 410 teaching days to be delivered within the first year.

OUK delivered creative and exciting educational talks across all Scottish Power Energy Networks operational areas to more than 72,000 primary school children over 443 teaching days within the first year of delivery, meeting and further exceeding the initial suggested targets. The administration of the service exactly met OUK’s original plan, including maintaining the budget limits outlined in the original proposal. OUK completed monthly quality assurance checks and inspected all evaluations taken from the schools visited, all of which were very constructive and positive!

As a result of the success of the programme, SP Energy Networks were awarded ‘Best Health & Safety Achievement in a Utility’ at the SHP IOSH Awards 2008, and ‘Community Initiative of the Year’ at the Utility Industry Achievement
Awards.

Outcomes UK are proud of our significant contribution to these achievements and look forward to the programme’s continued success.
