What is a Placements Manager?

Placements Managers are responsible for the recruitment and supervision of the Placements Team, matching looked after children and young people with suitable foster carers. As part of the process which places children and young people in the care of the authorities with an individual foster carer or family, the Placements Manager will lead the team of placement workers, assess the quality of service being provided, and hold and attend meetings with various relevant bodies both internal and external to the company. As a Placements Manager you will be actively involved with the referral process which your company is facilitating, maintain and recording its success through the ongoing placements process. The Placements Manager will also be expected to direct strategy, represent the organisation at a regional and national level, and work with multi-disciplinary teams to assess the suitability of the placements being made.
