What is a Child Centred Practitioner?

A Child Centred Practitioner is an individual who works directly with children and young people in a foster care environment. As a Child Centred Practitioner, you will monitor the health and wellbeing of the looked after child or young person, ensuring that they are happy and successful in all aspects of their life in foster care. As a Child Centred Practitioner, you will be one of a multi-disciplinary team of various support workers, therapists and education officers who will meet regularly to discuss how to go about providing the appropriate support. For these meetings the Child Centred Practitioner will be expected to assess and review the success of the child or young person’s placement and any failures to provide them with their necessary requirements, so as to provide them with the best suited care.
