Our Commitment to Social Responsibility

Core Assets Group Ltd aims to make a positive and lasting difference to the lives of vulnerable people.

We are an experienced established organisation working within the health and social care sector. We are in a privileged position to be able to extend our vision to everyone who has contact with the group and to the wider community; helping others through a commitment and investment:

  • People & Communities
  • The World Around Us

In order to make this happen and gain maximum impact, we invite everyone to get involved and help to make a difference.

Our Ethics

We strive to do business in a way that consistently reflects our values and vision and maintains our reputation and integrity.

We will act with honesty, respect, transparency, fairness and empathy with all stakeholders; the children we support, our carers, staff, customers, suppliers, shareholders, regulating bodies and the wider community.

People & Communities

We believe that people are vital to the success of our business, our communities and the world we live in. We value people, both within and beyond our organisation through a number of initiatives that prosper through the commitment of all our stakeholders.

We value our staff

  • Equality and Diversity:
Success comes from valuing and recognising the differences each person brings. Whatever their age, race, gender, disability, religion, belief or sexual orientation, we will encourage people to be true to themselves, contribute their views and avoid discrimination in all forms.

  • External Accreditation:
We believe in demonstrating our commitment to people through external review and assessment. We are proud to be recognised as a Stonewall Diversity Champion as well as holding Investors in People status, which we continue to improve upon year on year.

  • Policies and Practices:
We want our people to be happy, safe, healthy and motivated. Our policies and practices are established to ensure this is possible and are continually reviewed based on legislation, best practice and the views of our staff.

We benefit others

Through our Core Foundation (a not-for-profit Foundation Trust) we will manage, record and process our contribution to worthwhile causes under the three following headings:

  • Group Nominated Causes:
We will, at a Group level, support specific charities or not-for-profit organisations whose work reflects our own aims. We will actively support the running of events and activities across the Group that contribute to the success of these organisations, both through fundraising and in-kind support.

  • Local Causes:
We recognise that our operations in individual regions, companies and jurisdictions will want to support local not-for-profit organisations. We continue to support their local fundraising initiatives.

  • Personal Causes:
We will identify opportunities for staff to contribute to the causes of their choice through workplace giving schemes.

The World Around Us

We recognise that people thrive in an environment that is clean, safe and vibrant. We also believe that we should ensure our future generations have the same opportunity to enjoy the world as we do. It is on this basis that we will motivate and encourage our staff and other stakeholders to look after the environment.

  • Minimise Waste – Use Resources Carefully:
We aim to minimise waste and improve efficient use of resources from all our operations, through the adoption of the; reduce, re-use and recycle approach.

  • Choose Responsibly:
We will encourage our suppliers to provide more sustainable / ethical goods and services. We will communicate these alternatives to our staff to enable them to choose more environmentally and ethically responsible products.

  • Technological Efficiencies:
We embrace new technologies that help us to communicate, organise and manage our business in a way that minimises travel in the UK and overseas and reduces our reliance on consumable resources.

Reporting Our Improvements

We will keep this commitment alive by reporting our improvement activities through the Group’s Annual Report. We will reflect on each area of this statement, describing the successes we have achieved and our further plans for the next 12 months.

Total Commitment

"I fully support our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and guarantee that it has the full backing of the Executive Board."
